Established in 1986, Sea Gear Marine started doing business with the commercial fishing fleet in Cape May, New Jersey, a fishing town on the southern tip of N.J. The originator of Sea Gear is Charles W. Barto.

With over 15 years experience in the supply business "Chuck" started Sea Gear Marine Supply Inc. With a small building, one delivery truck, one assistant and his wife Renee in the office. Over 18 years later there are a dozen employees, larger facilities, etc.
